Encouraging, Educating and Celebrating Families |
|
For thirty-four years the Lamoille Family Center has encouraged, educated and celebrated families, serving approximately 1,500 parents, caregivers and children annually. We offer a host of services to families and children from birth to age twenty-one throughout the Lamoille Valley.
As one of sixteen Parent Child Centers across the state, the Family Center maintains core family services - home visiting, parenting education, playgroups, resource and referral, emergency assistance, and early care and education services - while adjusting and expanding services in response to new community and family needs.
In Fiscal Year 2009:
- The Outreach program served 132 families, reaching 296 adults and 367 children. This program provides emergency funding and goods such as diapers, clothing and furniture to families in need.
- The Holiday project served 133 families, resulting in 277 children receiving gifts, mittens, hats and books.
- The Supervised Child Access program served 52 families, resulting in nearly 312 hours of monitored parent-child contact on site at the Lamoille Family Center.
- The Learning Together Program graduated 7 students. This program offers educational services to pregnant, parenting or at-risk youth, age twenty-one and under, who wish to earn their high school diploma or GED.
- The Lamoille Interagency Network for Kids (LINK) program served 225 youth through the shelter program, street outreach (including the Teen Center and the summer camp) and case management.
