Thirty-nine Board, staff and community members attended the Lamoille Family Center Annual Meeting on June 24, 2009.

The meeting included recent organizational highlights, successes and challenges, remarks from Morgan Manning, graduate of the LFC Learning Together Program, and a kick-off of the LFC "Retire the Mortgage" Campaign.

A new addition to the Annual Meeting was recognition of the Lamoille Family Center Outstanding Supporter of the Year.  The Board and staff chose the Scheerer Family Foundation as the recipient for 2009 in recognition of the ongoing support they have provided to the youth programming at the Family Center.  Imelda Turner, Assistant Coordinator of the Lamoille Interagency Network for Kids (LINK) program, explained that many of the Family Center youth initiatives would not have been possible without the support from the Scheerer Family Foundation.  This support has enabled many youth to participate in a variety of activities to which they normally would not have had access.

A representative from the Scheerer Family Foundation spoke about the Foundation’s commitment to supporting organizations that promote strong families and community.

The Lamoille Family Center is extremely grateful for the generous support of the Scheerer Family Foundation and everyone who helps to ensure that the approximately 1,500 parents, caregivers and children continue to receive Family Center services annually.
