Thank you to everyone who supported the Family Center's holiday activities!
The Holiday Project took place on December 18th at the Holy Cross Church Crosby Center in Morrisville, when parents or guardians who had registered with the Family Center chose new toys, games, puzzles, hats and mittens for their children. Families completed 2 hours of community service during the year in order to participate in this project. This year, 147 families with 325 children participated in the Holiday Project!Â
Thank you to everyone who donated toys, games, puzzles, hats and mittens and to those who donated funds to support the project. Thanks to a partnership with Toys for Tots, thirty toy collection boxes were located throughout the region resulting in hundreds of toys collected. Approximately $18,000 in toys, games, books, hats and mittens were distributed.Â

Through the Adopt A Family program, 27 families were matched with donors (families, businesses, religious groups) who shops for the members of the family based upon items listed on a wish list. Incredibly generous donors truly gave these families the holiday experience of a lifetime. Â

Santa at the Owen's - The Stutz family of Morrisville takes a picture with Santa Claus (aka. Doug Owen) at the Santa fundraiser for the Lamoille Family Center on December 12, 2010.  At this sixth annual event, Doug and Alexis Owen opened their Morrisville home and invited children from all surrounding communities to come see Santa and share their wish lists. Approximately 60 excited children enjoyed a visit with Santa and a snack of cider and cookies before leaving with big smiles and happy hearts.
