Fifty friends of the Lamoille Family Center joined the Board and staff on August 2nd for a celebration of 35 years of service to Lamoille Valley families.
At 4pm early supporters, founders, and staff came together for a working session to further develop the organization’s history through creation of a timeline.Â
The community joined the celebration at 5:30pm with light refreshments, music, and brief remarks.
May 2011 marked the Lamoille Family Center’s 35th year of service to children, youth and families throughout the Lamoille Valley. In 1976, a staff of two provided support groups and home visits to new mothers. Thirty five years later, the staff has grown to 35 and services have expanded: children receive nurturing care in our high quality child care center; young women attend our Learning Together alternative high school; youth attend our Morrisville teen center; child care providers obtain training, support and mentoring; families participate in home visits; and parents with children of all ages receive education and support.
