Child Care Center
July 1, 2020
Hello Lamoille,
I’m writing to let you all know that, effective immediately, the infant and toddler child care center housed in the LFC building on Cady’s Falls Road is closed. A combination of COVID and chronic funding challenges are what brought us here. We can’t adequately express how much we value the contributions that our teachers have made to the families we serve and deeply regret having to make this decision. We will miss them.
I am hopeful that this is not just an ending, but may be a beginning. High quality child care is one of our core services, and is a keystone of our mission. Already, there have been conversations with Let’s Grow Kids and local schools and businesses about what might be possible going forward. There appears to be genuine interest in LFC working with community partners on a plan to establish new child care resources in the Lamoille Valley.
It saddens me to think that when things open up again, there won’t be smiling, crying babies downstairs in the arms of our wonderful staff. Difficult as it is, I remain hopeful that this decision starts us on a path to new possibilities. I hope that you will contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
