Parent Education

Join us for our upcoming virtual Parent Education Workshop:

Baffled By Behavior on Tuesday, October 27 from 6-8PM

Are you stumped by your child’s tantrums and other challenging behaviors? Join us as we host Rachael Cook for a workshop about how to understand and address everyday behaviors with toddlers and children. Parents and caregivers will learn how to read and respond to their child’s behavior and come to understand how behavior is communication. All participants will receive a detailed handout that they can revisit that covers the topics and techniques discussed at the workshop!

LFC offers a full spectrum of parent education services throughout the year including socially distanced playgroups and virtual, single and multi-session parent education workshops.

Playgroups are offered from September through May and follow the school calendar. Children learn to socialize and play cooperatively. Parents enjoy the company of other adults while learning about children’s development and community resources. During the playgroup, parents and kids play games, create art, read books, sing songs and enjoy healthy snacks.

For more information on current Playgroups, click here.

Educational workshops are offered throughout the year at the Family Center and various other locations around the region. Workshop titles and topics have included healthy childhood sexual behavior, safe computer use, and challenging behaviors.
