Baby Chat Groups A playgroup for the youngest members of our community and their parents; come play, socialize and make new friends while learning about developmental expectations and needs for your child. A local specialist in child health will be available at the groups as a resource. Breastfeeding Support Free ongoing monthly Breastfeeding Support Group with Vicki (Sacco) Rich and Emily Dale (RNs & IBCLCs) meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Church of the Nazarene on Route 15 in Johnson between 11 am & 1pm. Child Birth Classes Copley Hospital's Wellness Center offers this popular program for all expectant parents regardless of where you expect to give birth. Expectant parents meet once per week for six weeks to learn more about the birthing experience and newborn care. Participation in this program enhances expectant parents’ knowledge, confidence, comfort and active involvement in this major life event. Early Childhood and Family Mental Health Program The Early Childhood and Family Mental Health Program offers individual play therapy and case management services for children aged 0-6 and their families. We also offer a parenting program based on the Child Centered Play Therapy model which teaches parents basic therapeutic interventions to increase attachment between parents and children and to develop deeper and more meaningful parent/child relationships. Early Head Start Early Head Start offers individual attention for you and your child. You will have the opportunity to learn new parenting skills and developmentally appropriate activities to do with your child. Early Head Start serves children from prenatal to age 3. Family Literacy Center The Family Literacy Center provides family centered literacy to eligible families. The program combines early childhood education, adult literacy and parenting education into a family centered program. Call 888-7993.
Head Start Head Start is a free program for families with young children. Head Start helps families maximize their resources, develop and achieve goals, and enjoy and nurture their children. Parent Information and Resource Center of Vermont (PIRC Vermont) PIRC Vermont is a project that provdes support, information, and training across Vermont to parents and educators. The program is sponsored by the Vermnt Family Network and funded by the US Department of Education. PIRC Vermont is a joint effort of VFN and the netwrk of sixteen Parent Child Centers (including the Lamoille Family Center. PIRC Vermont's purpose is to help children of all ages succeed in school.
