Local Parenting Groups
There are a number of groups that meet regularly around the Lamoille Valley. You can find support for you and your family at every age and stage. In addition, the Family Center offers a regular schedule of parenting classes and drop in playgroups. Click here for a schedule .
Baby Chat Groups
Playgroups for the youngest members of our community and their parents. Come play, socialize and make new friends while learning about developmental expectations and needs for your child. A local specialist in child health will be available at the groups as a resource. The groups are free and no registration is required – just attend any or all of the groups listed. * 1st Thursday of each month at 10 –11:30 am at The Playroom, 30 Fairgrounds Plaza in Morrisville * 2nd Saturday of each month at 10 –11:30 am at the Lamoille Family Center in Morrisville * 4th Tuesday of each month at 10 – 11:30 am at the Church of the Nazarene in Johnson. Breastfeeding Support Group
Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Church of the Nazarene on Route 15 in Johnson from11:00 am – 1:00pm. This group is generously provided free of charge by Lactation & Birthing Solutions. For more information – call Lactation & Birthing Solutions at 888-3470.
Child Birth Classes
Offered by Copley Hospital’s Wellness Center. Expectant parents meet once per week for six weeks to learn more about the birthing experience and newborn care. Participation in this program enhances expectant parents’ knowledge, confidence, comfort and active involvement in this major life event. Class schedule includes Infant CPR training and breastfeeding education. Fee may apply. For more information contact Jill at 888-8302.
Rocking Horse Circles for families living with substance abuse
If you are a mother with young children and wish to talk with others about parenting, understanding the role of substance use in family’s lives, and coping with the natural stress of being a parent, then Rocking Horse Circles are for you.
